During Holy Week, St. Ignatius Catholic Church will hold a 40-hour Devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. This special Lenten devotion represents the 40 Days of Lent, culminating with the institution of the Eucharist on Holy Thursday. It also represents the traditional 40 hours Christ’s body was in the tomb. This devotion dates back to the year 1527 with St. Anthony Mary Zaccaria but was made popular by St. Ignatius and the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits).
We hope to expose the Blessed Sacrament for 10 hours per day from 8 a.m. on Monday, April 14, through 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 17. There will be no adoration from 12-1 p.m. due to daily Mass. This special devotion is only possible with the help of committed adorers! Please sign up for a slot (or two, or more!) by clicking the button below to help make this devotion possible.
